The internet, which is also known as 'Information Superhighway' is a worldwide network which transmets data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocal (IP). The intertnet carries various information and services, Such as :-

- Other resources of the world wide web
Todays internet - The internet is essentially defined by its interconnections and routing policies. As of Septemeber 30th 2007, 1.244 billion people access the internet. The internet has been traditionally called 'civil society' .
An example of interactivity which takes place on the internet is for example the wbpage 'youtube'. On this website, viewers are able to post vidoes produced from themselves, which are then able to be viewed by other people all over the world.
